As we gather to celebrate the life of a remarkable man, our dear Father, and Uncle, he was a pillar of strength and a beacon of light for us all.
Uncle Lekan was a link between the past and the present, effortlessly connecting with us through stories of our parents. Time spent with him was never boring, as he always knew how to keep us entertained.
Prior to being crowned as a first-class King, he held a lot of prestigious positions and titles which prepared him for the exalted and God ordained position as the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Uncle Lekan, carried himself with grace and humility, always putting the needs of his people above his own. He presided over the affairs of Ibadan land with Wisdom and fairness, earning him the respect and admiration of all who knew him.
He left a legacy of upholding the tradition and custom of Ibadanland, prosperity and peace was also evident all through his 2 years on the throne which will forever be remembered.
Rest in peace, dear Uncle. Your wisdom, kindness and legacy will forever be cherished in the hearts of all those who knew you.
